Statue of a building Businessman

This is one of the bridge pile that has been sculpted in the 30’s maybe by Hildo Krop. Instead of allegories, this one represents a businessman surrounded by lorries and figures. Maybe a reflect of what was happening in the neighbourhood that was being built at the time. The sculptor added a very moderne item in the hands of the businessman, a telephone. Calling from the building site, an idea for the future.

Voici une pile de pont qui a été sculpté dans les années 30, peut-être par Hildo Krop. Au lieux des alégories habituelles, on a droit à un entrepreneur de travaux publics, entouré de camions et de chiffres. C’est vraisemblablement un reflet de ce qui se passait dams le quartier, en train de se construire à l’époque. Le sculpteur a ajouté une touche moderne en affublant l’homme d’affaire d’un téléphone. Appeler depuis le chantier, une idée pour les générations futures.
