This church is the catholic church of Halfweg-Zwanenburg, a village located half way betwen Amsterdam and Haarlem. The tower with its art-deco roof and the warhead shaped nave makes it a good example of an Amsterdamse school building. De kas
De Kas (kas is short for broeikas meaning glasshouse) is one of the most emblematic restaurant of Amsterdam. Lost in the Middle of the Frankandael Park, all you see is a glasshouse with smokestake heating. Inside the glasshouse they grow vegetables, they cook and they serve them. This is very good cuisine here. De kas (kas est un diminutif de broeikas qui signifie serre)est sûrement le...

Lone Heron
Amsterdam is a paradise for grey herons. There is water everywhere a lot of fish sellers throwing away their unsold fish and enough green areas for them to rest (like here in Flevopark). Some says they are 8,000 of them in Amsterdam. Amsterdam est un paradis pour les hérons cendrés. Il y a de l’eau partout, de nombreux poissonniers qui jettent leurs vieux poissons et suffisemment de...

On the blue bridge
On the blue bridge (Blau brug) again, you can see it closser than my previous photo. The pillars on the top of the bridge have nice 19 century lights and sculture. It is said that the model for that bridge was the Pont Alexandre III in Paris. I don’t think so. À nouveau sur le pont bleu (Blau brug) que l’on peut voir ici, de plus près que sur ma photo précédente. Les pilliers sur le...

New York Perspectives
New York is 400 years old. History starts with the arrival of Henry Hudson who explored the area for the Dutch East India Company and organized the first Dutch settlements in what was called Nieuw Amsterdam. Because of this first (or second, or third name), Amsterdam and the Dutch has been associated with the 400th birthday of the big apple. The exhibition advertised by the foam museum is only...
