Bikes for rent
Second Sunday of September was the day with no cars. Cars were not allowed in the city center and people could only walk, cycle and roll. To help people who didn’t plan this, extra bikes were available for rent here and there. These AZOR Jersey were proposed on Damrak.

Future House
Along the river Amstel, the building of a new house in traditional style. Walls are made of bricks and the roof covered with plastic isolation is waiting for the tiles.
Le long de la rivière Amstel, on construit une nouvelle maison dans un style traditionnel. Les murs sont de briques et sur le toit, une étanchéité en plastique attend les tuiles.

Boats in Waterland
This canal is in Broek in Waterland a small village in a region called Waterland for the main reason that it is a wet place. The main occupation for many people on a sunny saturday afternoon is to take advantage of the sun and have a cruise on the canals.

Blue balls
This is not a game! these three balls are intentionaly here to help people keeping fit. This is a stage in a health course in Gaasperplas park.

Ouderkerkerplas
I am so happy I could finaly cycle on a lake. No I am not flotting but this footbridge just above water makes you just fly over the Ouderkerkerplas.
Je suis trèss content d’avoir finalement pu faire du vélo sur l’eau. Non je ne flotte pas mais cette passerelle posée sur l’eau donne vraiment l’impression de voler au dessus de l’Ouderkerkerplas.

I am wrapped
There are many Iamsterdam big signs here and there in the city of Amsterdam. This one was wrapped in jeans in Westerpark. Unusual enough for a photo.

Standing on Arenaboulevard, near Amsterdam ArenA stadium, a open square street lamps from Philipe Starck and surrounded with shops and towers.

Nesciobrug
The Nescio bridge lies over the Amsterdam Rhine Canal and links the city of Diemen to the Islands of IJburg on the east part of Amsterdam. Because large boats goes on the Amsterdam Rhine Canal, this bridge is very high. It’s a curved suspension bridge and this is the longuest (780m) in the Netherlands that is not dedicated to cars. It looks like the Dutch like astrolabs as a decoration in gardens. I’ve seen some in museums and in private gardens. This astrolab is on display at the volkstuin (commons) de Federatie.

Munttoren
Munttoren is one of the old watch tower of the former middle age city walls. It was then used in the 17th century to mint coins and this is where it got its name (Munttoren means mint tower).
Munttoren est l’une des anciennes tour de garde des remparts de la ville médiévale. La tour a ensuite été utilisée au XVIIe siècle pour frapper la monnaie (Munttoren signifie tour de la monnaie).

Slatuinenweg houses
Slatuinenweg is a piece of old Amsterdam remainings in the more modern Baarsjes district. Slatuinenweg means the way of the lettuce gardens. This little steepy street use to be a gardners’ place. Many of them started to build their poor houses in their gardens. It seams that this street kept its peaceful atmosphere since that time, when all around the city invaded the area.
